Dresser I was commissioned to transform a very generic dresser into an interesting and unique piece of painted furniture. I wanted to present the piece as an old, decorative painted piece, perhaps something found in a dusty old shop, that could evoke the past. Tapestry Mural A very stylized painting process with mythological animals, fruit trees and textured background afforded a perfect synergy between the dark oak paneled room and large heavy furniture. Though tapestries are always woven of cloth, I decided to create the old, worn appearance by painting on top of a frescoed surface. Aged plaster walls provide a depth and sense of solidity I felt was appropriate to achieve my goal. Chapel Ceiling Restoration offers interesting challenges. In a classically rendered mural such as this, I must adapt to the original artists method of painting. Determine his brush stroke technique, understand his color use and re-create his palette, are a few of the challenges I had to undertake. |
